Abstract
This article is dedicated to the analysis of political and dynastic events of the Giudicato of Arborea in the last two decades of the fourteenth century and, especially, to the figures of Brancaleone Doria, Count of Monteleone, and Mariano V judge of Arborea (1392/1393-1407), viewed against the background of Western Mediterranean political landscape.
Some doubts about the family connection between the two personalities, already advanced in earlier publications, are confirmed by the examined sources.
