Alfonso de Castro y Villasante: First archivist of Villa (Madrid)
Abstract
This study tries to announce the moment in which for the first time the figure of the archivist became institutionalized in the Council of Madrid. Though previously there existed other prominent figures who took charge of the above mentioned assignment, Juan Pedro Godi's case, it will be now when it is endowed to the employment of certain entity, simultaneously that was writing a regulation for the Archive. With everything, the concept that will be had of will be merely functional and temporary. The latter fact will pre-cipitate the resignation of Alfonso de Castro to continuing exercising it. With regard to his competitions they will limit themselves to organizing, to inventorying and transcribing documents that were ensuing from interest for the economy of the City. As colophon, there have been analyzed the procedure adopted in the designation and the documents gen-erated in his processing.
Este trabajo pretende dar a conocer el momento en que por primera vez se institucionalizó la figura del archivero en el Concejo de Madrid. Aunque con anterioridad existieron otros personajes que se hicieron cargo de dicho cometido, caso de Juan Pedro Godi, será ahora cuando se dote al empleo de cierta entidad, a la vez que se redactaba un reglamento para el Archivo. Con todo, el concepto que se tendrá del será meramente funcional y temporal. Este último hecho precipitará la renuncia de Alfonso de Castro a continuar ejerciéndolo. Respecto a sus competencias se limitarán a organizar, inventariar y transcribir documentos que resultaran de interés para la economía del Ayuntamiento. Como colofón, se ha analizado el procedimiento adoptado en la designación y los documentos generados en su tramitación.
