Abstract
As is well known, Queen Joanna I of Castile was unable to assume power when she inherited the kingdoms from Isabella the Catholic in 1504. However, through the study of titulations and validations of official documents, we observe that the queen's presence is continuous. These presences and absences correspond to moments of construction of legality and dynastic legitimacy in the territories. We will study the diplomatic and chancellery documents, through their seals and forms, to understand the complexity of this legal and political reality for the Castilian kingdom, which had a queen who did not rule.
