¡Oh muerte, tu poder todo lo iguala! Echoes of the “Camarasa crisis” in the funeral poetry by José Delitala y Castelví
Abstract
The essay analyses five sonnets written by José Delitala on the death of some prominent figures of Sardinian and Spanish politics who lived during the late seventeenth century, and with whom he certainly had personal relationships. The study of the formal and rhetorical features of the texts highlights the poet’s specific stance, despite his apparent equidistance from the historical facts that ended with the tragic death of two protagonists of the events.
