Abstract
Basili Khouzam -this is the real name of Alessandro Spina- was born in Benghazi in 1927. The father, of Syrian origin, moved to Benghazi from Aleppo in 1911, coincidentally with the Italian occupation of Libya. Basilij will move with the family in Italy when is still a teenager. He graduated in Italy and writing in Italian he found his place in the literary scene of his new country until he got the Bagutta prize in 2007. Alessandro Spina is an Italian writer of Arab origins who lives everything ambiguous in his personal life as a resource, then making this ambiguity his stylistic signature.
Basili Khouzam - questo il vero nome di Alessandro Spina- nacque a Benghazi nel 1927. Suo padre, di origini siriane, arriva a Benghazi da Aleppo nel 1911, proprio durante l’invasione italiana della Libia. Basilij, ancora ragazzo, partirà in Italia con la famiglia. Laureatosi in Italia, inizia a scrivere in italiano; trova il suo posto nella scena letteraria del suo nuovo paese, sino ad ottenere il premio Bagutta nel 2007. Alessandro Spina è uno scrittore italiano di origini arabe, che vive tutto ciò che è ambiguo nella sua vita come una risorsa, facendo di questa ambiguità la sua cifra stilistica.
