The dramaturgy of the tale in Zadi Zaourou's “La guerre des femmes”
Abstract
In reply to the debate on the existence or not of an African theatre, some dramatists as Zadi Zaourou question tradition. Constituting one of the theatric demonstrations, oral literature serves as their inexhaustible pool. Also, certain authors undertake for instance the dramatization of story while others adapt techniques to the theatre. These approaches re-make more dynamic African drama to make it coincide with the aspirations of the people. After showing that the work of the Ivorian playwright is an intertext of oral literature, this article deciphers specifically the used techniques of story and reveals its ideology.
