Coordinate the Western Mediterranean. Merchandises, boats and credit in the seventeenth century
Abstract
This paper deals with two main questions: how it was handled the mobility and the economic interchange in the increasingly plural Mediterranean from the 16th century, and also to what extend the immigrant entrepreneurs participated in the configuration and economic integration of Europe regions and the World. For these proposes it will be use a particular case study, as a point of observation to the trade and finance Mediterranean world: the business of the Cernezzi and Odescalchi families. Trough their experience will be analysed the building of networks to buy, sell and carry goods and also by means of their financial activity.
En el siguiente artículo se trataran dos cuestiones: cómo se gestionó la movilidad y el intercambio económico en un Mediterráneo cada vez más plural durante el Seiscientos y en qué medida participaron los emprendedores migrantes mediterráneos en la configuración de la integración económica europea y global. Para ello me basaré en un caso de estudio particular, como punto de observación del mundo del comercio y las finanzas, la trayectoria de las familias milanesas Cernezzi y Odescalchi. A través de su experiencia analizaré las redes que crearon con la compra, venta y transporte de mercancías y mediante su actividad como operadores financieros.
