An environmental issue: the use of flax in Andalusia during the 15th century
Abstract
El argumento principal de este artículo se centra en un problema medioambiental. Dividido en dos apartados, en la primera parte la reflexión gira en torno a los problemas de contaminación sufridos en las ciudades medievales. En la segunda parte, se presenta un caso de estudio centrado en el enriado del lino en las localidades andaluzas a finales de la Edad Media.
The main argument of this article focuses on an environmental problem. Divided into two sections, in the first part the reflection revolves around the pollution problems suffered in medieval cities. In the second part, a case study is presented focusing on the retting of flax in Andalusian towns at the end of the Middle Ages.
