The Taller de Estudios Internacionales Mediterráneos (TEIM) and its contribution to a new account on the Mediterranean
Abstract
The reinvention of the Mediterranean was a recurring theme since the 1990s. It was believed, with a good dose of optimism, that the Mediterranean could become a platform for human rapprochement between its banks in the face of the idea of the border of two civilizations ancestrally opposed. The academy contributed to this new story and institutions like TEIM did their bit. A quarter of a century later, reality has reintroduced the Braudelian vision of the scene of fight between West and East.
