The written culture of the Royal Hospital of Santiago de Compostela in the 16th century: Places, scribes and writings
Abstract
On the basis of the constitutions of the Royal Hospital of Santiago de Compostela (1524), we will study the archive, library and writing office of the centre, the notaries and non-professional scribes who wrote down in the sources of the institution and the great typology of books which were used in the hospital.
