Res publica Sardiniae.
Res publica Sardiniae. Parliamentarism and Estates' Representation in the Kingdom of Sardinia (14th-18th centuries)
Abstract
Since the 14th century, a few years after the beginning of the conquest of the island by the kings of the Crown of Aragon, the kingdom of Sardinia had representative institutions that acted as spokespersons for the kingdom's elites and as interlocutors and intermediaries between the king and his vassals. This work presents an approximate overview of this type of institution and its functions throughout the fourteenth to eighteenth centuries.
