Storiografia e fonti sull’assistenza nell’Abruzzo Ulteriore (secc. XIII-XVII)
Historiography and sources about welfare institutions in Abruzzo Ulteriore (13th-17th centuries)
Abstract
Over the last century the historiography on the hospitals of Abruzzi, has undergone significant changes in the approaches, perspectives and fields of research. This study, starting from the existing literature on the subject, aims to provide a first survey of Abruzzi hospital archives and to highlight the problems in the conservation of their sources. In the reconstruction of various emerging complex paths, a central focus is represented by the case of L’Aquila between the Middle Ages and Modern Age, starting from the documentation kept in the archives of the state and the archdiocese.
