La literatura migrante en la formación de la conciencia nacional argentina

Migrant literature in the formation of Argentine national consciousness

Abstract

This essay focuses on ‘migrant’ literature: by means of its themes – i.e., the exaltation of the physical space, the sadness of the journey/exile/migration, the defence of the linguistic-cultural identity, the search for integration in an environment that gradually becomes something owned by the individual, the creative assimilation of autochthonous elements –, ‘migrant’ literature reveals an example of trans-culturalization. The fruitful combination of Italian and Argentine specific features has provoked a complex process that leads to the formation of a national consciousness in order to join the project of a different nation by sharing the permanent dialectic of the new cultural and social construction.

El artículo se focaliza sobre la literatura ‘migrante’ que, a través de su temáticas – es decir: la exaltación del espacio físico, la amargura del viaje/exilio/emigración, la defensa de la identidad lingüístico-cultural, la búsqueda de inserción dentro de una realidad, que cada día se vuelve más propia, la creativa asimilación de elementos autóctonos–, revela un ejemplo de transculturación. Al conjugar provechosamente las especificidades italianas y argentinas, se ha puesto en marcha un complejo proceso, que confluye en la formación de una conciencia nacional para adherirse a un proyecto de nación distinta entrando en la dialéctica permanente de una nueva construcción cultural y social.
