Diaspora and host society. The vote of the Italians in Argentina through the Press
Abstract
Changes in the international scene require us to study old phenomena, but with new eyes. Issues such as migration, nationalism and citizenship must be addressed through innovative methodologies. Starting from this we want to analyse the impact of the vote of the Italian community in the Argentinean press. Modern Argentina is built from the civic model of nation and the wide concession of citizenship, the Tremaglia law of 2001 gives Italian citizens abroad not only the opportunity to exercise the right to vote by mail but also to elect their representatives, to defend their interests. This creates a unique situation that we intend to study in this article.
