Migrations in the Mediterranean world during the Modern Age. The Italian historiographic case-study

Abstract

This article aims to provide a historiographical review of migrations in the Italian peninsula in the Modern Age. The need to propose a report stems from the fact that, over the last twenty years, the interest in migratory phenomena inside and outside the Italian peninsula has progressively developed. An interest witnessed by a considerable increase in studies, essays and specialised journals dedicated to these issues.
