Sources for the history of the hospitals in Basilicata (13th - 16th centuries): first steps of research
Abstract
The research enlights on archival and bibliographical sources concerning hospitals attested in Basilicata between 12th and 16th centuries; during the Middle Age sources - even if scarce - allow us to highlight the presence of hospitals in the most important centres of the region (Potenza, Melfi, Matera); for the early Modern Age in some cases it was possible to trace a brief institutional profile of the institution and its relations with the laity.
