The contractor state in Spain and France in the 18th century
Abstract
For dynastic reasons Spain and France shared some similar objectives during the eighteenth century. That brings us to ask about supply systems to Armed Forces in particular. This essay deals first with a general overview of supply proceedings, then two concrete sectors are considered: victualling for the Army and the provision of iron made cannons to finally assess differences and similarities among the two supply systems.
